Each Benefit, Explained

Local Expertise, Not a Travel Agency Script

Our skippers have spent over a decade navigating the Gulf of Thailand. They know which anchorages are calm in which wind directions, which reefs are worth stopping at in which tidal windows, and how the monsoon transition affects passages between islands.

This is genuinely accumulated knowledge — not a checklist given to a seasonal hire. When a forecast changes mid-passage, the decision made by our crew reflects years of reading these specific waters.

What this means for you

  • Routes adapted to current sea conditions, not a pre-printed schedule
  • Better snorkel and swimming spots selected from experience, not maps
  • Calm decision-making if conditions shift during the charter
  • 12+ years of Gulf of Thailand navigation behind every departure

What this means for you

  • Current navigation instruments including chartplotter and AIS
  • VHF communication equipment on every vessel
  • Snorkel, kayak, and marine activity equipment maintained and ready
  • Regularly serviced engines with documented maintenance logs

Well-Maintained Vessels, Properly Equipped

Every vessel in the Aquinox fleet is maintained on a written schedule. Engines, rigging, safety equipment, and onboard electronics are checked before departures and serviced at regular intervals regardless of usage.

Activity equipment — kayaks, snorkel sets, inflatables — is inspected each season and replaced when it shows wear. What you use on board is in the same condition as if you had borrowed it from someone who takes care of their things.

One Point of Contact, Start to Finish

From the first message through to your return to the marina, your booking is handled by the same member of the Aquinox team. There is no hand-off between a sales person and an operations team — one person manages the entire process.

This means fewer things fall between the cracks, and when you have a question or a specific request, you send it to someone who already knows your booking in full detail.

What this means for you

  • No re-explaining your requirements to a different person
  • Prompt responses during Thai business hours (Mon–Sat, 8am–6pm)
  • Clear, written summary of your charter details before departure
  • Comfortable conversation, not a pressured sales exchange

What this means for you

  • No hidden additions for fuel, crew, or standard equipment
  • Catering and meals included as described per package
  • Pricing in Thai Baht with straightforward payment process
  • Rescheduling available at no cost if weather prevents departure

Transparent Pricing, No Surprises

The price quoted for your charter covers the vessel, crew, fuel, and all activity equipment. Meals and refreshments are included as described for each package. Optional extras — upgraded catering, specific provisions, longer operating hours — are discussed and agreed in advance.

We do not add items to the final bill that were not discussed. The figure agreed during booking is the figure you pay.

A Charter That Delivers What It Describes

Over 800 charters completed. A 4.9 average guest rating across direct feedback and third-party reviews. The consistency behind those numbers is straightforward: we describe what we offer accurately, and we deliver it without cutting corners.

Guests return — many of them annually — because the experience matches what was agreed, and because the water around Koh Samui is genuinely worth coming back to.

Track record

  • 4.9 average guest rating across 12+ years of operation
  • Over 800 completed charters without a serious incident
  • High rate of returning guests and direct referrals
  • Weather reschedules honoured without additional charge

What Makes Us Different

Distinctive Features of Aquinox Charters

Bophut-Based Departure

Operating from Fisherman's Village puts us on the quieter, northern side of Koh Samui — away from the busier southern marinas. Departures from this side of the island offer quicker access to the Koh Phangan channel and Ang Thong.

Overnight Passage Option

Few charter services on Koh Samui offer a genuine overnight programme. Aquinox runs a two-day coastal passage with sleeping cabins and a full galley — something that most half-day and day-trip providers simply do not offer.

Market-Fresh Onboard Catering

Our crew sources produce from Bophut market on the morning of the charter. Meals reflect what is fresh that day — a meaningful difference from pre-packed catering sets that are common across the industry.

No Upselling on Board

Crew members are not incentivised to sell activities, stops, or additional services during the charter. What you agreed to beforehand is what happens. The atmosphere on board stays relaxed rather than transactional.
